Pat, I don't know how much consideration the SNL people gave to this idea, but the point of the speech might've been so that it took off on the internet. Just think how many people watched the Stephen Colbert roast of Bush on the internet. This may be a trend, but who knows if the SNL people factored this in at all.
Sure the show's crappy now, but now that I think about it, they have to be conscious of the internet opportunities out there. They have been doing digital short films for some time now, and this would fit right in...
